A Legacy of Conservation, Not Commerce

Packshot photography of an indigenous cow and calf in a misty forest. The scene evokes a feeling of natural conservation and serene rural life.

Today, finding pure honey or authentic bilona ghee feels almost impossible. The truth is, real purity cannot be mass-produced in a plant it can only be protected in nature.

In Deep in the Western Ghats of Joida, our family has spent over four decades doing exactly that.

Since 1980, we have dedicated ourselves to conserving the rare Malnad Gidda cattle. We don't tie them in crowded sheds or feed them commercial grain. They roam freely, grazing on wild forest flora, living exactly as they have for centuries.

In this same philosophy guides our relationship with India's native honeybee, Apis cerana indica. Backed by strict environmental research, our beekeeping is rooted in science and sustainability.

We don't force production with sugar syrups. We follow the natural rhythm of the Western Ghats, harvesting ethically and ensuring the ecosystem remains completely undisturbed. In Our honey and ghee are simply the byproducts of this conservation.

Crafted the traditional way—with immense patience, scientific integrity, and deep respect for the land. It is a piece of the untouched forest, brought honestly from our family to yours.

Why This Honey Is Different

Unlike commercial operations that use imported European bees, we work exclusively with Apis cerana indica—India’s native forest bee. Our harvesting is dictated by the forest, not by demand.

  • Native Indian Bee: Better for local biodiversity and forest health.
  • No Sugar Feeding: Our bees forage only on wild forest nectar.
  • Ethical Harvest Stop: All harvesting ceases after May 20 to ensure bees have enough for the monsoon.
  • Conservation-Led: Every jar supports native bee research and Joida forest protection.
